− DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. Don’t know how this place could be listed for guests to stay in. Dirty, unsafe, not like photos. Want my money back.
Perfect accomodation to explore Nikkō area!
8.0Compact but with everything you needed. Quiet location and close to supermarket.
− A couple of bigger dishes and a few more pans would add to the confort of the guests.

6.0The place was ok. A bit crowded with a bank bed in the dining/living room space. Without that it would have been much nicer. It was in a very quiet neighbourhood. There were nice strange insects outside, like a stick-bug that we loved seeing. The beds were comfortable. The AC life saving (it was VERY hot outside). There was a washing machine. The staff was very responsive, by e-mail.
− There were no basics in the kitchen, salt, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, that would have helped. The house was a bit far from the station and from the most lively part of Nikko. The walk from the station is ok, not very uphill. We were visited by a kind of cockroach in the evening, one each night. I guess that being in a mountain village it can be difficult to get rid of every insect. And the place where the beds over the tatamis were was clean and comfortable. Anyway, I felt that, comparing with the other places where we were in Japan, this was a bit overpriced. The most important thing: we had a good time.

5.0Close enough to town if you have a car. Can sleep up to 4.
− There was a terrible smell coming from the kitchen, though I couldn’t exactly know where from. I informed them and they simply said they came to check and noticed nothing. It was an intense odor so I don’t believe they couldn’t smell it. Also, I agree with others that the four small wooden stools are insufficient and uncomfortable so you end up sitting on your bed.
