Cozy unique stay
8.0This was a much different type of stay from anything else we had done in Japan so far. This is a cozy little room that is above a small bookstore/restaurant. It has a very unique vibe as you pass through the shop and head upstairs to where you'll be staying. It very much reminded me of coming home and living above a shop that your family runs! There's an additional 2 rooms that are rented out, one on the first floor and 2 on the upper. Ours came with a nice balcony view. The location is a bit towards the end of the town but super close to one of the major onsens here. The staff were also great and very friendly, on check in we were given local recommendations and a free drink card to use at the shop, which we did later that night and spent some enjoyable time chatting with the staff!
− Since this is a room in a shared space there is a shared toilet down the hall. We did find that the walls were pretty thin so sound from the shop below or street came through easily. This quieted down after 12 when the shop closed. The beds/pillows weren't very comfortable either unfortunately!
