I stayed at Bay Dreams Beach Hotel for almost two weeks and had a great experience from start to finish. Iqbal and his family gave me a very warm welcome and made me feel at home right away. The room was clean, had good air conditioning, and a separate bathroom with a shower. There was also a desk and chair, which was perfect since I had to do some work during my stay. Breakfast is included and was different every morning. Everything was delicious, and if you were still hungry, you could always ask for another serving. They also offer surf lessons and have surfboards available for rent, which is really convenient. The beach is only a two-minute walk away, making it easy to cool off in the ocean. I can highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Arugam Bay. Thanks to Iqbal and his family for making my stay so enjoyable!

We loved that the staff was very accommodative and helpful. The rooms were clean as well. They even let us do an early check in, which was great.

− It’s too compact. The pictures don’t show how small the place it. We had slightly higher expectations.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Stay in Arugam Bay – Truly a Home Away From Home We had an amazing stay in Arugam Bay, and this homestay truly felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect—tucked away in a peaceful area, yet only a 5-minute walk from both the beautiful beach and the main street with its restaurants, cafés, and shops. Every morning we enjoyed walking to the beach to watch the stunning sunrise. The property itself is clean, well maintained, surrounded by a lovely garden, and also offers convenient laundry facilities, making it ideal for a relaxing stay. A very special thanks to our host, Iqbal, who is one of the kindest and most genuine people we have ever met. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel like family. He arranged our Kumana National Park safari at a great price, showed us the easiest way to reach Crocodile Rock, and recommended watching the sunset there—which was absolutely breathtaking. We spent over an hour talking about life and many other topics, and by the end of our stay, he felt more like a brother than a host. He even took me to the local market to buy authentic Sri Lankan spices to take back home. His kindness, generosity, and hospitality made our trip truly unforgettable. A heartfelt thank you to Aunty Vanitha and Perien for taking such wonderful care of us. Aunty Vanitha is the sweetest person—always smiling, cheerful, and incredibly caring. Every morning she prepared delicious homemade breakfasts with fresh juices, and we always looked forward to chatting with her. She never said no to anything we needed and made us feel completely at home. Perien was equally wonderful. Whenever we needed anything, he was always happy to help and made sure everything was arranged quickly and smoothly. Thank you, Iqbal, Aunty Vanitha, and Perien, for making our stay so special and memorable. We will definitely visit Arugam Bay again, and there is no question about where we'll stay.

Nothing to like everything bad except breakfast.

− Small rooms. Stinky toilet. The pathetic condition of the bathroom one can't stand there for more than 5 mins. Who charges for complimentary water bottle..?
