6.0Room very nice, bed exeptional Not enough hot water for 2 to shower. Smartbox not working.
− Rotten water in one wineglass, I would have been pouring by wine in without noticing as I did not have my reading glasses on at the time. Luckily my husband stopped me. Hubby had cold shower, could not watch TV. Smartbox comes on but does not react when remote is ised.

1.0The little welcome touches were genuinely lovely. The crunchies, cappuccino sachets, mini chocolates, wet wipes, and juice in the fridge were a really thoughtful treat and made a great first impression on arrival. Small gestures like this go a long way. Cute hangout spots in the yard. Great location.
− No hot water in the evenings, in BOTH rooms we booked. After a long, hot day in Tzaneen, an evening shower is not a luxury, it is the bare minimum. When we reported it, the host's response was a dismissive "Please ask the security guard to assist". The security guard then told us the outside shower was unavailable because the drain was blocked, and that other rooms were free but only the owner had the keys. Convenient. It was a string of lies, and here is how I know. An older review on this listing flagged the exact same problem: no hot water in the evenings. So this is not a once-off. The truth is simple: the geyser is only switched on for morning showers, then deliberately switched off to save electricity. Saving on your electricity bill at the expense of paying guests is unacceptable. We paid R800 per room, per night. At that price, hot water on demand is the standard, not a special request. To the host: stop lying to your guests. Be upfront about your hot water schedule before people book, acknowledge the issue, apologise properly, and fix it. Hiding behind your security guard with fabricated excuses is not a strategy, it is a reputational risk. Heads up for future guests: Room 1 only has a bathtub. If you specifically want a shower, ask for Room 4. Lastly, the rooms do need to be aerated more.
