The location and the view is spectacular.friendly staff and clean and spacious rooms.

Lovely guest house. Wayne and Dirk took good care of us and provided great recommendation for the area with high level attention to detail. The staff is highly trained and you feel welcomed from the moment you step foot on the property. By far the best breakfast during our stay in South Africa. We spotted a few whales from the breakfast table.

No hot water, 2 hrs wasted, no compensation, followed by an abusive public response from management

The room was spacious and the sea view was pleasant. Unfortunately, these were the only positives, and they were completely overshadowed by the lack of hot water and the way the complaint was handled. Update following the owner’s response: The management’s public response is even more disturbing than the original service failure. Rather than taking responsibility for an inadequate hot-water system, the owner called us “malicious” and “dishonest”, told us that we “should be ashamed”, and unnecessarily referred to me as “a foreigner”. The response itself admits that the hot water was depleted and that another suite had to be provided for us to use its bathroom. A professional property would investigate the failure and respond respectfully; it would not publicly insult a paying guest or attack their character. This response fully validates my decision to give the lowest possible rating.

− We paid more than R2,700 for one night at a property marketed as a five-star guest house, yet our booked room had no usable hot water on Saturday evening and still had no hot water the following morning. At approximately 19:40, we reported the problem and were told to wait for the water to heat up. We then waited for nearly two hours, until after 21:30, while receiving repeated assurances that the problem would be resolved. Only after this lengthy delay were we allowed to use the bathroom in another suite that was not fully prepared, instead of being promptly moved to a properly functioning room. The next morning, the original room still had no hot water. The owner explained that our room shared a geyser with the neighbouring room, as though this made the situation acceptable. There was no meaningful apology, no partial refund and no compensation of any kind. Hot water is one of the most basic services included in paid accommodation. Guests should not have to lose an entire evening waiting because the property’s hot-water system is unable to serve the rooms reliably. The room also did not include slippers, despite slippers being listed among the advertised amenities. This was not a minor inconvenience. It was a fundamental failure to provide the accommodation service that we had paid for, followed by extremely poor complaint handling. The service fell far below the standard that a paying guest is reasonably entitled to expect, particularly from a property marketed as five-star. Future guests should confirm before arrival whether their room has a reliable and independent hot-water supply. Based on both the service failure and management’s dismissive response, I cannot recommend this property.

An 11/10. Exceptionally hospitable staff, amazing breakfast thoughtfully prepared by them. The views were great and the room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. They have books and board games too, which is really fun if you’re travelling in a group.
