8.0It was a clean flat. Had everything we needed for our stay.
The worst stay in a short let ever
1.0Nothing
− The worst stay I’ve ever had. So bad I checked out 2 days early. All these next sentences I’ve got evidence for. 1. Immediately upon arrival I noticed the mattress is completely broken and when I asked for a new one or to move room or to get a refund I was met by a very angry host response demanding I pay £50 more to move room even though he didn’t provide a mattress to sleep on. You can press the mattress together with one hand and to sleep on it you’d feel every spring. He refused to give me a refund so I could check out. I had no choice then but to send the £50 and move rooms. 2. Someone broke into my room when I was laid on my bed. A man just barged into my room then saw me and ran into the other bedroom. This made me feel unsafe in the property. I alerted the host and he said this didn’t happen because he has CCTV and I should have contacted him at the time, I contacted the host the next day as it was late in the evening and there is only one cctv and that is located outside the property not in it so he wouldn’t know what is going on inside. 3. Accusing me of flooding the kitchen. There was no flood in the kitchen. 2 other people stayed in different rooms during my stay who were very messy and I am super clean and tidy so rather than try and ask who could have clogged the drains. The host just told me they are charging me for a plumber visit. I haven’t clogged any drains and there was no flood. Also when I said the kitchen is shared, he said I was the only one who cooked, there is no camera in the kitchen and the other guests were messy so how would he know who has and hasn’t cooked? I believe the host is creating fictional repairs to extract more money from the guests. 4. The place itself is in a council flat and doesn’t feel like a nice area. 5. The inside is really dated like you would find in a granny flat. The bathroom, bedrooms and kitchen all need renovating it’s like going back to 1990. 6. I checked out two days early and lost the money.
Good for short stay
8.0It was clean and okay. I can’t say that it is exceptional, but it is good enough for short stay.
− It is just a personal preference. It doesn’t really feel cozy and warm, at least not to me. I’ve stayed in so many properties over the years and this one is more for young people passing through. There were ‘rules’ laid out such as take your shoes off as you walk in, be quiet…etc, which automatically didn’t allow me to relax.
