Great stay in rustic surroundings.
9.0Very comfortable, delightful accommodations in a rustic setting. We stayed in a family suite that was well appointed. The kitchen and breakfast set-up was very user friendly with ample options. Also a great way to meet fellow travelers. The outdoor spa with sauna and steam room were a great way to end the day. Michael was a great host and super helpful as well.
Grateful to have secured the last bed on the island.
4.0Location. Host Dana is very warm.
− Not suitable for mobility impaired persons. Very uneven terrain, many uneven “artisan built” stairs. I got the last room on the island on a busy weekend so I’m grateful for the bed, but…no ensuite bathroom (did I mention the stairs with the wobbly rails) Although I came prepared with tightly sealed wide mouth jars and a feminine funnel, Michael produced a very comfortable camp toilet when he saw my walking stick. Sticker shock. No mention of $85. cleaning fee until I looked at my bill and saw that a $ 200. room had become a $300. room. No mention that the “spa” had to be booked in advance for 15 minutes at a time. Spa consisted of hot tub for 2 (wobbley hand rail) a steam room (untried because of time limit) and more artisan paving. Breakfast was a do it yourself affair….eggs in the fridge, scones, bread, coffee. Latest coffee gadgetry and an old stove with only 2 working burners.
The host was fantastic . Accommodated our early arrival. Well equipt facility .
