The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable with great air conditioning. The highlight is the host Basheer - he is so lovely and accommodating and provides an excellent breakfast. It is situated at the quiet end of the town but you can easily walk to the main busy area or can get a tuk tuk.

Solo traveler who is a bit older than the "backpacking" crowd, thus enjoying a bit more comfort, yet doesn't want to spend an unreasonable amount for accommodation here. This was the perfect find. I feel super lucky to have stumbled upon this gem in Arugam Bay. It's a bit out of the center, which allowed me the distance from the chaos of bars/raves/shops. Basheer, the host, is super helpful. He will be there to answer any questions or requests you may have. When the deal is not better than the one you can find elsewhere, he will be honest about it too and does not give you trouble about getting services from. I think some guests may have found the construction in the front disturbing, but I didn't hear much of it once in the room, and they don't operate at night, so I didn't find it to be bothersome whatsoever. Wifi is better than some of the hotels that were twice or thrice its price around Sri Lanka. The room also gets cleaned every two days, which made it super easy and comfortable. The bed had a mosquito net, but we never really had mosquito/gnats issues while there. Breakfast, fresh juice drinks, scooter, ride shares, tours... whatever your inquiry is, Basheer will have an answer. Even if you don't get it from him, it's a great way to figure out the market price, and he remained consistently helpful and respectful whether you take the service from him or not. One big thing is that it's easy for host/owners to be kind to you while you're there, or when things are good. I think character/professionalism shows when things go "wrong" and that is brought up. I had such a moment with Basheer, and his response was the kindest, most respectful, and professional. It's, to me, the actions and response to uncomfortable things that show the character of the person and the service, and I can say every time I come back to Arugam Bay, I would choose Aqua Blue all over again!

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Basheer, the owner and manager of the hotel, was incredibly friendly and always ready to help. He also offers tours and other activities, such as safari to Kumana National Park, surfing lessons, Lagoon safari and so on. It takes just a minute to walk to the beach. The breakfasts here were delicious. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.

We loved our stay here! The accommodation was super and the location is perfect, just a minute from a beach where there are not many people. The center, nice viewpoints, and surf spots are all very close. Basheer is amazing, he always helps and gives the best advice. Also, breakfasts were so delicious.

Отличное расположение в тихом месте, одинаково близко, как к океану, так и к главной улице, в стороне от тусовок. Для нас это был принципиальный момент. Очень чисто, апартаменты простые, но все для жизни есть, тем более, что практически все время мы проводили на пляже. Здесь нет видов из номера, но есть волшебный гамак, ухоженный садик, где живет хамелеон и растут манго с ананасами. Бэби Пойнт находится в противоположной стороне пляжа, но этот момент решался при помощи тук-тука, который по первой просьбе вызывал хозяин Башир. Он готов помочь, практически, с любым вопросом, будь то вызов тук тука, такси, организация сафари или серфинга. Простые, но вкусные разнообразные завтраки, свежие соки и фрукты, на обед можно попросить себе яичницу или опять-таки фрукты, а если хочется чего-то более разнообразного, то рядом располагается приятный Salty bar, в котором мы часто ужинали. Смело ставлю 10.
