6.0The hostal inside was fine. Large kitchen & sitting room, outside balconies and my room was a good size, the bed comfortable & shower was fine. Space to put things, hangers and a rail were provided. I thought my room was pretty clean overall. There was a bedside light! Yay! The oven & gas hob worked. Flor, the cleaner was friendly.
− The location was horrible. Down & outs & drug addicts and prostitutes line the streets for several blocks. Streets stank of urine & filth everywhere. I did not go out at all at night and felt unsafe altho during the day, no-one actially bothered me. My room had a distinct smell which wasnt overly pleasant. I found several dead cockroaches in the room & shower and one live one who escaped..... I used the kitchen to cook but found very little cutlery or utensils or adequate cookware. There was only a ring cake tin to make my pasta bake. The cupboards inside had quite a lot of useless stuff, were not particularly clean, nor was the fridge or counter top where salt/pepper, oil etc was stored. Where the gas bottle & rubbish bin were stored by the stove was very dirty. Given that the cleaner seemed to be living in, the kitchen should have been a lot cleaner & better stocked. It wasn't particularly comfortable to be staying there with the cleaner and her family in residence and I didnt feel inclined to use the sitting room with them there. My second night, for some reason the daughter & her partner were accommodated in the room right next to me where they kept me awake for hours, despite plenty of rooms being available further along as well as upstairs so why I had to be so disturbed I dont know.

8.0It was a really pleasant hostel, the owner was really nice and welcoming. She gave us an option to have a bigger room. Good location if you are going on a bus direction to Nicaragua. Owner gave us advice on how to be safe in the morning when we went on the bus station. Everything went well 👌
− The location of the hostel is in a really sketchy area, but a few meters away from the bus station where Nica Expreso bus is starting from (thats why we booked this hostel). Our Uber driver warned us about the area and wasnt really happy with where we were staying since this is not a safe area at night - at daytime it is okay. Lots of drug addicts, homeless people and dangerous people around..
