Amazing property! Amazing location! The house was really well equipped with everything we needed. Very special indeed. Loved the different dwellings on the property. Outdoor bath, footpaths and shower were lovely touches.

− Without aircon at night, it was hot if a breeze wasn't blowing. But totally understand that the property is remote and runs on renewables. It wasn't something we didn't like as such.

This property is spectacular. We spent the most amazing week there. The view from the deck is breath-taking, looking out across the bay to the islands, looking over what was essentially our own private sandy, palm-lined beach (there being no others in the nearby properties the week we were there). This was probably the closest we will ever come to living in paradise. Peter the owner was helpful with instructions, and had left us a very welcome bottle of cold champagne. We were greeted on our arrival at the beach (by boat with Great Barrier Reef Safaris) by the wonderful Lisa and Al, the island caretakers, who had prepared the property immaculately and who explained how it all worked. Al even carried all our luggage up! The smaller buildings attached were fabulous too, with their history with the artist Noel Wood, and The Bath House was particualrly sumptuous, and made us feel like exotic royals. This was special.

The whole experience of arriving at the beautiful island and the whole stay was magnificent! We had beach to ourselves, at the front door, most of the days, giving quite an exemptional experience. We loved the slow-paced days. Peter is an amazing host, very accommodating, always quick to respond. The transfer from Cairns was very well organized! We decided to use Paradise Limousines services with Warren and were transferred from Mission beach by boat with John. The island care takers, Warwick and Andrea, very welcoming, always helpful. I definitely recommend this experience!

Doorila Beach House is nothing short of spectacular, and Bedarra Island is simply magical. We haven’t stopped talking about our holiday since returning to reality. If I could give Doorila an 11 out of 10 stars, I would! The view is magical, the space is beautiful and the ocean is at the front door. We filled our days with long and leisurely swims, standup paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling, exploring, fishing and eating! There is plenty of watersport equipment to keep everyone entertained and the kitchen is well-equipped (far better than we were expecting). Huge shout out to the owner, Peter for being so kind and accommodating right from the beginning of our booking. We really appreciated all the work Stuart and Adele (Great Barrier Reef Safaris) put into helping us organise provisions and ensuring our transfer to the island was effortless. And a massive thank you to Warrick and Andrea (caretakers) for receiving us with warmth and being all-round great people - you helped make it a trip we’ll all remember forever!
