Lovely four days in a beautiful, peaceful house with a wonderful garden
10.0The Hall is full of character and had everything you could need. It was spotlessly clean and the garden was lovely and quite large. Very peaceful with Semer Lake very nearby. Lots of places to eat within a short driving distance
− Nothing. The only comment I would make is there are quite a few steps but this wasn’t an issue
Perfect. Most enjoyable time in our 3 week vacation in the UK.
10.0The Aga in the kitchen made the room warm and cosy in the mornings. The log fire in the living room in the evenings. We felt that we had travelled back to a time long forgotten to the days perhaps of Yeames "And When Did You Last See Your Father?". Such beautiful furniture and wallcoverings and the flag stone floors. And the flowers in the garden. I could go on and on. Just needed the servants or a minstrel with a mandolin to entertain us at dinner. We were the "Lords of the Manor" if only for a short time. What a wonderful house.
− Such a brief stay unfortunately.
Wonderful weekend getaway
10.0The antique historic cottage in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside was the perfect weekend getaway for the family. Highly recommended.
− There was no microwave in the kitchen
lovely accommodation, however it could be more accommodating regarding checkin and check out time.
6.0Gorgeous hall, was a lovely little stay.
− The only thing we found really fustrating with this trip was the check out time being 10am on a bank holiday and only a 4pm check in on the day of arrival. If someone was to perhaps book one night it’s not a long period of time for the amount of money that is charged for the stay. Your cleaning agency need to be accommodating especially on a bank holiday, like you said they do multiple cleans but it’s unfair for you to have to have the first clean meaning your guests are up and out extremely early.
Exceptional
10.0Beautiful house, full of history, character and charm. Rural location set in a small hamlet not far from Hawes. Everything was provided for and the host, Anna, replied immediately to messages. Our grandchildren loved exploring the house and the gardens attracted a lot of wildlife. The aga kept the kitchen warm throughout, heating was adequate not to light the fires of a night. Countersett has that cosy cottage feel . I will definitely recommend it to family and friends.
