In need of renovation and a tidy up

The location is great, just off the a1 so its easy and fast to get to places. The size and location of the property is good, with a nice open plan kitchen/living room, good privacy with the fence, and a large grassy area to the left side due to a large gap between caravans

When we parked up, the first thing we noticed was the outside was full of weeds making it look really run down. There's a make shift loose gate that you can use to stop any dogs getting out but it's very flimsy, and often falls over. The decking is in a serious state of disrepair, with one plank snapped in half, causing a tripping hazard, the only thing stopping it from collapsing fully is the banister. Multiple other planks are loose, but not snapped, with the banister also holding them in place. The hot tub cover is too small for the hot tub. The garden furniture has massive holes in it. The property wasn't cleaned before our arrival (a couple hours after check in start time), we found dirty cutlery in the drawer (not just mucky, but food still attached), a pigs ear dog treat underneath the sofa (dog sniffed that one out very fast), multiple items of opened food left in the cupboard including half a box of coco pops (I get leaving some items, so they don't go to waste, but what use is a box of stale coco pops? Clearly just someone's left over rubbish). The dishwasher is out of order and has been for some years based off other reviews. There are no BBQ facilities as listed in the properties facilities. The shower room door latch has broken, and has been replaced with a bent tea spoon. The twin bed mattresses are thing, you can feel the springs when laying on them, damaged my back sleeping on them the first night, they desperately need replacing. The WiFi (a Three router) is also extremely slow most of the day (1-2 mbps), with mobile phone data also very slow

This was booked as an Easter bank holiday treat, very disappointed. I would not recommend booking this lodge.

The lodge looked cosy when we first walked in. The hub was ready on arrival.

Lots of things broken, such as door latch in the bathroom, dishwasher, patrons door lock. Outside area around the hot tub was very old, the garden furniture desperately needs replacing, the stairs into the hot tub very very old and unstable. The heating wasn’t coming on and no hot water. We were offered the money back and left.

Very pleasant

Clean and well maintained

Lacked outdoor comfortable seating and furniture Some rattan benches was next to hot tub but no cushions. Somewhere to hang towels and dressing gown (under cover) would be a good idea

We have had a manic week with our baby being rushed into hospital the week before so this stay was all about a nice last

Well presented, not your usual decoration which we loved, we got that log cabin feel. Loved how the bath was in the bedroom.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property
