8.0Bien aménagé et équipé. En proximité de nos activités
− La chasse d'eau n'est pas efficace, pas d'eau chaude en cuisine
Comfortable cottage but attention to detail needed.
5.0Very comfortable and good kitchenware. Slept well in comfortable bed. Nice decor.
− White residue on wall behind coat rack. This rubbed off onto my partners black jacket. Not good! Cobwebs on lights above kitchen sink. Hot tap in kitchen takes forever to heat up and has very high pressure. Toilet takes several flushes to work effectively. Partially finished bottle of rioja in cupboard under t.v.
Disappointing accommodation.
3.0It was close to the centre of Saxmundham.
− Sadly, the representation of the property was poor and left myself and my fellow traveller feeling let down. The main issue was that the cottage was represented as having two separate sleeping areas [I searched for 2 bedrooms and this came up]. I fully realised when going through the marketing information and photos on the site that the second ‘bedroom’ was the v small lounge and was fine with this but we were unprepared for the hosts providing 2 extremely thin foam mattresses as ‘beds’. If you dig into the detail of the reviews, you will see that at least two other guest reviews in 2024 commented on the inadequacy of the bedding for the lounge. I don’t feel it is the guest’s responsibility to hunt for clues about a forthcoming stay, and in general, i have found the marketing by hosts on booking.com to be excellent. However, beyond the bedding, the feeling of this place compared to other stays we had in Suffolk was that it was bit tired - an old shower, an information folder for the cottage that was at odds with the info online etc. Am always happy to pay the going rate for a stay but this was an expensive stay when a number of things were not up to standard.
love our stay, thank you and see you again soon
