7.0Quiet and a lovely building
− Quite cold one evening put heating on which did not work until next day some sort of storage heater system. Also thought it was a bit mean not to have any shower Gel in bathroom, had go out to find a shop to get some. Every place I have stayed this year and beforehand has included this. Was sent a message on the day before leaving to make sure I had put rubbish out, check that furniture was in its right place and that the place was left clean and tidy before leaving. I always leave accommodation tidy it’s the first time I have had a message like this from a host- maybe other people leave in a mess? Quite unusual.. In short a nice place to stay but I would not return next year personally for the above reasons.
A wonderful escape to a fantastic cottage in a beautiful location where you can do as much or as little as you like.
10.0Fox Cottage was a treat! The cottage was really clean and had some useful things to get us started like a bin bag, some toilet rolls, salt and pepper and some dishwasher tablets. Bedding and towels were lovely. We used the pool loads - it’s a good temperature and we like a deep pool. Jason, the host, is really personable and helpful. A couple of local recommendations: Mablethorpe beach is beautiful; the tide goes out a long way, the town is not our scene but easily avoidable. Appleby’s Ice Cream is about 10 mins away and their ice cream is heavenly somehow fluffy and creamy at the same time! A trip to The Deep in Hull is a bit of a trek but it is a pretty incredible aquarium so we would definitely recommend it. We found the nearest big supermarket/superstore to be about 25/30 mins away near Grimsby but there are smaller supermarkets that are closer (Louth).
− Nothing but if pushed to give an answer I would say an extra smaller knife in the kitchen would be useful as there is one big multipurpose knife…but it’s not really a huge issue!
