Extremely disappointing and a waste of a lot of money

The location but not the access.

− The access to the house was rough and when we got up the drive the outside was very unappealing with a shed and a load of gravel beside. There was no area to sit outside.and the photos on the Booking site had obviously been taken at least the year before. In the booklet in the property it is described as “an ongoing project”. This was NOT advised on Booking.Com. Well overpriced for “a project”. We loved the area and the house will be great eventually but not what we were expecting from the photos. Then there was a major difficulty with the water and we were advised that we had to leave on Tuesday evening. We had no choice but to accept the property offered outside Clifden. Not where we wanted to be and not a property we would have wanted to stay in. A case of out of the frying pan into the fire! All in all a very disappointing trip which leaves us very loathe to trust Booking.Com or Love Connemara Cottages again. I had always trusted that properties offered had actually been checked out as fitting their descriptions.

Area

− Kitchen cupboards all full, alot with out of date foods, vegetables, no room to put our stuff. No outside bins. Shower arm broke so unless your were well under 4ft you had to shower with one hand. House had a lot of fly, midges and damp on wall. Smell of damp. Outside appearance and clearly marked entrance could definitely be updated. Views around half of outside blocked with over grown trees/brushes

OK, but pricey: could be much nicer if the owner tried a little harder

Good location, clean house, well equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms.

− Only one bathroom for 6 people, not even a second toilet. Water on the floor of the bathroom, perhaps from a leaking pipe. Damp floor also in the back of the main bedroom. Tired 1980s decor and furnishings. For that price I'd have expected shampoo and firewood. Outside overgrown with weeds, potholes in the drive. An unloved property.

They were really fast fixing the problrm that the heating didn’t work so we had only one cool evening and morning House is good equipped

Had a fabulous time, good property - some tweaks and updates to facilities needed. In summary our whole family had a fan

Great location, plenty of space, comfortable beds and couches. Good for families.

− Outside areas not kept, no seats or option to enjoy outside, property would benefit greatly. Some general cleaning/clearing of clutter. Couldn’t work out the heating, would be a problem if it was colder. The property has potential and with improvements will be super for family stays.
