Beautiful, well appointed accommodations in an ideal location to experience the Irish countryside with easy access to Dublin and other incredible sights. Owners, Richard and Bairbre, were incredible and helped make our visit extra special. The communication was superb and they went above and beyond with answering our questions, giving local recommendations, and welcoming us on their farm.

Bâtiment très agréable. Gîte spacieux à la décoration soignée. Les hôtes sont accueillants et attentifs à notre bien-être. Visite des animaux, œufs frais du poulailler offerts. Stationnement aisé sur place. Tout était parfait.

Upstairs/downstairs

Bairbre was a lovely friendly host. She is a wealth of information about the local area. We really appreciated the half dozen eggs we were given on arrival. The first floor of the house is lovely and spacious, with everything we needed. The laundry room with a washing machine and dryer was handy. Having the cats wander in to say hello absolutely made my day as I've been missing my own while travelling. Views out the window of the Highland Cattle was a real treat. The property is quiet and peaceful, and well located for exploring the surrounding areas.

− The ground floor is somewhat less impressive. There are 2 bedrooms, with beds for 5 people in total. We chose the smaller room because we wanted the bedside lamps. This room holds a very small double bed. It's shorter than normal. For a good reason, as a normal size bed wouldn't fit in the room. In fairness, the room description does give measurements for the beds. I just didn't realise how short they'd be. This bed took up the entire room. We stored our bags in the other room. I'm not sure what you'd do with a larger group of people. Which brings me to the second issue. The room description says 2 bathrooms. This might technically be correct, because there is a toilet in the laundry upstairs. Downstairs you have one shower room with a second toilet in it. So if you're a group of 5, you'll be queueing up to shower. I'm optimistic that this shower room will be cleaner now than it was when we were there. The rest of the house was clean, so I am willing to believe that the mould in the shower was an unfortunate oversight. The faulty exhaust fan probably didn't help, and once I pointed these issues out to Bairbre she apologised and got right on to sorting it out. And finally, the wifi was pretty patchy. Not a big deal, it just made it a bit tricky to research activities for each day. Honestly, I don't want to make it sound like our stay was awful. We had a good time and the house is cute. But I think it might be a bit cramped for a large group.

Fantastisches kleines Haus, sehr schön renoviert und eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich nett und haben uns sehr Gut willkommen geheißen. Kann es für jeden empfehlen!

Johnsfort was everything we needed. It was absolutely perfect! The home and hosts were better than we expected and we had a great time! Slept well and enjoyed our visit immensely!! 100% recommend!!
