Lovely countryside retreat
8.0Wonderful little property, reasonably priced. Two rooms: open plan kitchen & living room plus a bedroom with a single bed and double bed. The living area had a small sofa and a small arm chair, and an extendable dining table with three chairs. Lots of teabag varieties, jar of biscuits and sugar provided as well as washing up liquid and a clean sponge and cloth. It was well equipped with everything. Steve was very accommodating and friendly and our needs were met. The property is situated within gated grounds with a lovely apple tree and friendly dog and there is a village shop opposite the property with everything you might need. York is very close by. It's a great place to stay and we enjoyed our visit very much!
− We couldn't get the main oven to turn on. It didn't affect us as we used the top oven instead. Also we couldn't get the dishwasher to switch on. Both issues might have been our inability to get things working, and we didn't ask Steve for help with either as we were quite happy to wash up by hand and use the alternative oven. There were quite a few spiders about in various corners. Be warned - it is the countryside after all!
