The Best Holiday

10.0

This was the Best holiday we have had in along time. We could not believe our eyes when we arrived this was the most Beautiful house we have ever stayed in. We loved everything about it especially the decor it's so in keeping with the look of the house it's perfect in everway. I especially loved the pantry I've always wanted a pantry. The garden is so beautiful and to sit outside and look into the skies and see the ducks waddle past in a row is Great. The lake is so beautiful too. There is a brilliant recycling site we love recycling if it's available. The place is just First Class. Susan the owner is so nice and funny!!!! She gave us a tour when we arrived and had left us a whole bunch of treats, there was a trolly with biscuits, cereal, chocolate bars jam, Honey which she makes from her own bees 🐝. There was milk in the fridge, ice cubes in the freezer and ice pops. She couldn't have done any more. The whole house was spotless and had everything you needed. Lovely hot shower, we cooked nearly every day. The beds were like sleeping on clouds. We couldn't have asked for more. The house is between 30-40 minutes drive to the broads, cromer, we went to Great Yarmouth. There is also a Chinese takeaway less than 10 minutes away that Susan had left menues for and it was very nice. We didn't want to leave and will Definitely be back as soon as we can. Thank-you Susan for letting us stay and opening up this beautiful house for everyone to enjoy and Thanks for the honey x

The only thing we didn't like was saying Goodbye on our leaving day. There is nothing to not like.

Lovely, quiet get away

9.0

The cottage is amazing. So comfortable and welcoming. The host provided welcome extras above and beyond our expectations (chocolates, cereal, milk, crisps). There was even a jar of honey, made on the grounds, which got used daily as it was delicious. The garden is huge and fenced so the dogs could just wander. Sitting out in the morning with a coffee and the evening with a glass or two was perfect. The local pub The Fox is very welcoming and I can highly recommend the food.

The shower is not the best and takes some figuring out...more of a mist that disappears than running water...but the tub is a nice size to have a relaxing bath. The largest part of the oven didn't work...think it needs a new element...we did inform the host who did come check but they said it was getting warm...of which "warm" was it's highest temperature. But we managed to cook using the smaller oven and stove top just fine.

This is a charming house set away from main roads, with every room featuring an interesting quirk or furnishing. Everything is very well maintained, & though the idea is self-catering - we were met with snacks & supplies in the dining room & kitchen. The bathroom is spacious & we enjoyed instant hot water showers. Beds were pretty, clean & comfy. Of an evening we enjoyed cosying up in the Lounge to watch a movie. We had weather enough to sit outside on the patio table & chairs too. Birds from the adjacent lake are housed nearby & a friendly quack kept us amused. The nearby countryside is lovely too. We went for a wonderful walk along quiet country lanes & into woods & fields. Wholeheartedly recommended.

I'm having to really nitpick for anything negative to say. We had to fiddle with radiator thermostats to warm up a room - but you have to do that anywhere! Oh - the DVD library made me laugh as I'd seen them all :)
