We all wished we could have stayed longer.
10.0Grey Goose Cottage is a self-catering holiday let; it is comfortable, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Its French windows command a beautiful view of a small loch and the situation is admirable: paths and small, quiet lanes lead away from the front door. The owners, who live on site in an independent house, are welcoming and friendly and allow guests to get on with their own holiday at their own pace. Stornoway is about twenty minutes away by car and Tarbert, on Harris, about an hour. The rooms at the cottage are well arranged; the washing machine is quietly tucked away and the outside garden room dries clothes quickly. We loved the place; it was an excellent base to return to at the end of the day. Lewis itself is full of quiet beauty and wilderness. We bought fresh fish beside the fish market at Stornoway and we visited mountains, beaches and a local football match. (2-0 home win.) There were harriers, merlins and eagles in the skies. We all wished we could have stayed longer.
