Clean lodge, dirty outside!

The site was really lovely and clean and the inside of the lodge was clean and spacious, very impressed.

− We were very disappointed upon a closer look at the decking which was green with mould and it hadn't been swept before we got there. There were lots of cobwebs all over the outside and the hot tub had dirt in the bottom, making me think the water hadn't been changed since before the last visitors. There was also a bottle of water with cigarette ends under one of the chairs and a child's t-shirt and socks around the hot tub. Attention to detail seems to be lacking. Don't be fooled be the bottle of prosecco in the pictures, 'cos it ain't there'. It is overpriced for what you get (or don't).

Fantastic stay

We loved everything! There was nothing to fault at all. We like the fact there was an ironing board and iron. Washer/dryer. Hair dryer. Two bathrooms. One with a bath/shower and the other with a giant double shower. The kitchen was beautiful. Fully stocked with pans, plates, glasses, egg cups, etc. Other than stocking up on food, we went for nothing. The hot tub was perfect. The park itself was very quiet. I loved seeing the little rabbits running around early in the morning.

− The only thing we didn't like was having to come home, oh and no mop and bucket. Only because we like to make sure we clean properly before we leave. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Poor communication and bad housekeeping

On the positive side the lodge is beautiful and the park is lovely and well kept but sorry based on the negatives I have listed I would not return and would not recommend this lodge

− Basic items that should be provided in the lodge were missing . I have stayed in many lodges and air bnbs and never been provided with absolutely nothing before!! No Shower gel No soap No Dish cloth No Tea towel No bin bags No hand towels No washing up sponge 1 toilet roll Nothing to clean with No disinfectant Wouldn’t it be a good idea to leave at least some cleaning items so we can keep the lodge clean? Had to sweep patio by hot tub before use Light round hot tub doesn’t come on, sat in darkness! No instructions on how to use hot tub or any appliances or heating , found there was a smart thermostat in bedroom behind tele else would have been freezing in the evening Late replies to messages and emails No check in info until 2 hours before had to phone twice for this detail Dirty sheets stains/blood stain on single bed , couldn’t be used, disgusting and smelt (Lucky that there was only 3 of us that the dirty sheets didn’t need to be slept on as no one came to change them ) Poor communication/no answers to messages and emails

Location great. Stress free check in and check out. I asked the children to strip their beds to help the cleaning team. (Teaching them to help others out a bit) Hot tub was lovely Well equipped kitchen Lovely cantonese/Chinese 2 minutes away (Queens head) Close to Malton and Pickering, flamingo land. Comfortable seats, table and chairs Nice fresh decor

− Temperature of the shower was only warm.

Overall is was nice for the break away that was needed, staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding late check

Very spacious and beds comfortable, hot tub great

− Definitely need blinds up at the windows as no privacy especially in the bedroom’s also as soon as it was daylight it shone through which means you were then woken. If blinds were added it would stop the lodge from being so hot, we were lucky with the weather which made the lodge unbearable with the heat. A fan was provided in the living room but didn’t help much. Lodge was pretty clean, few cobwebs up at the windows in the living room and bedrooms, also a dead month on a kitchen cupboard- more attention to detail needed there. If I’m staying somewhere fir £280 a night I expect it to be immaculate. Feel lodge a bit over priced considering there is literally nothing on site but guess you are paying for the standard hot tub!

Beautiful property, exactly as described!

− Plenty pots and pans, could maybe provide more glasses, only 2 wine glasses for 4 people! But that’s really the only complaint that we had!
