We loved this simple bach in a beautiful location,reminiscent of beach holidays of past time.

It was a. It hard to find the lockbox but once found it was fine . One little nuisance was the back door kept closing by itself and locking so the people in the sleep out couldn’t get into the house easily.

− The big deck furniture took up a lot of room so all seven people we had staying couldn’t be there comfortably together at one time, which was a minor problem. We used a couple of folding chairs that we bought with us to overcome this .

Great location but tired New Zealand-style bach accommodation.

Location was perfect. Right next to a great beach and about a 300 m walk to another great beach. Garden was nicely laid out. Parking on the grass at the front. Wifi worked. TV worked. Aircon on the lounge worked. Beds were comfortable. Showers were good.

− Key safe difficult to find initially. Main block comprised of open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen, 2 double bedrooms and a single, plus one toilet and a shower room. It was a hot day when we arrived and one of the double bedrooms was too hot to stay in despite opening all doors and windows it wouldn't cool down sufficiently - no aircon in the bedrooms. So one couple stayed in the adjacent sleep out building which was cooler and had a bedroom (double bed and single), storage room and shower and toilet. This sleep out was in very basic condition, dirty curtains, bug screens that didn't fit properly, was signs of rot around the outside of the shower, the ceiling has evidence of bug splats and a slight smell of damp in the bedroom but at least it was cool. The shower and toilet were fine and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen in the main block needed some TLC, the dishwasher had some wheels missing off the pull out bottom rack, the oven handle had become unscrewed (which would need the oven door dismantled to refit it) etc. While there were lots of pots and pans etc, (but no tea pot!) there were few cleaning tools, e.g. no BBQ tools, scourers etc. The owners need to spend some money to bring this accommodation up to a good standard - of course, it is a typical New Zealand old style bach, but you would expect more in 2026, especially for more than $2000 for 3 nights.

A wonderful location - so close to the water and very private and quiet. The house has everything you need and is cosy and comfortable.

Quiet, clean, beds were comfy, it had all the kitchen stuff we needed for cooking.

− Nothing was wrong with the property, just one of the rooms was a sleep out at the back & quite dark at night when walking to it! We didn’t end up using it, only during the day when we needed the shower etc

Location near the water

− No air conditioning in the bedrooms Only one bathroom for 5 people in the main house. Basic shower. Small outhouse not air conditioned-- fans inadequate and fly screen of poor quality. Overall the house condition was very basic
