Very pleasant and relaxing, would come back again.
9.0Accommodation was very comfortable and well laid out for 2 people staying. Enjoyed the proximity to Sidmouth to the west and Branscombe, Beer and Seaton to the East
− Only issue was patchy internet (non-existent on occasions). You may find this a bonus whilst you are on holiday but in our case we had a couple of essential on-line tasks that we needed to do. The owner is new, and is upgrading the internet so this should not be a problem in the future
Dairy Cottage, Weston, Sidmouth
5.0The cottage was in a good location All the fittings and furniture were relatively new and the cottage looked pretty There was parking, internet and the surrounding area was quiet
− On/prior to arrival: 1. The fridge was dirty, with vegetable bits everywhere 2. The kitchen towels and oven mitts that were provided were neatly folded and placed on the table but opening them up they were revealed to be extremely dirty (towel) and full of old food (mitts) 3. The edge of the duvet/ bed spread had dark dirt marks on it when I arrived. As a result I did not sleep under it, and as the heating was off most of the time and there was no obvious way to switch it on from within the cottage, I got cold during the night (it was cold and rainy during that week) During my stay: 1. The bathroom of the adjoining house is partly above the living room of the cottage so there is sometimes flushing and knocking noises. 2. Detailed instructions for waste removal were provided. However, neither the bins present on the property, nor the removal dates matched those instructions. Only a single, small indoor bin and food caddy were provided. No recycling boxes or outside waste receptacles were present on the property. The cottage is described as dog friendly , but there is nowhere to put one's dog waste other than by placing bags at the front door or inside the kitchen receptacle. I phoned Sweetcombe, who informed me that they will get the new owner to sort the bins out, but I never heard from anyone again and nothing came of it so I came to the conclusion that there was little interest in ensuring I had a pleasant stay. These experiences diminished what would otherwise have been an excellent holiday
