We had a great time here using this as a base for day trips to Mt Cook, Lake Ohau, Otematata...
8.0This is a very well-equipped, self-contained property. We were fortunate that there was no-one in the adjoining unit, so it was peaceful and very quiet for the whole week we were there. It's only a short trip into Twizel (restaurants, grocery stores etc) yet feels wonderfully 'away from it all'. The manager was VERY prompt and attentive. A huge storm blew through the South Island of NZ during our stay and our power went out (along with thousands of others). We received helpful responses within minutes of any messages we sent through during our stay and were very impressed by that level of support. It was a great base from which to explore this part of the South Island.
− There is very little to fault this property and how well equipped it is. It was unfortunate that we picked a super windy week to stay there so we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the views as the wind was terrible. The only things I'd add to the property would be a pair of oven mitts (I used a folded up tea towel, but that's not very safe) and a kitchen sponge with a scouring pad on one side (to properly clean pots and pans that wouldn't go into the dishwasher). We bought the latter so we could leave the dishes clean for others. It was disappointing to see that some previous tenants had put wine glasses away that were grubby, so we put all of them through the dishwasher to ensure they were cleaned properly. They also hadn't cleaned the lint out of the clothes dryer, or the water out of its condenser unit. Some people are very thoughtless!
