Tout était parfait, le logement était superbe et le cadre autour également sublime. Les hôtes ont été d’une très grande gentillesse, nous avons été si bien accueilli dès notre arrivée avec un frigo rempli ! Merci beaucoup à vous pour ce séjour dans la sublime île de madère. Nous ne pouvons que recommander ce logement.

Un coin de paradis sur terre. Situé dans un village, au milieu de la nature, un lieu authentique. Nous sommes reconnaissants à nos hôtes pour leur accueil chaleureux. Le logement était décoré avec goût, moderne, très bien équipé (électroménager,linge de maison, ventilateur) tout comme à la maison. Nous avons eu l’agréable surprise d’avoir des fruits, fromage, et boissons à notre arrivée. La vue est superbe. Vue sur la mer et la montagne. La terrasse a été un vrai plus pour passer nos soirées au calme. Un endroit apaisant. La propriété compte un parking sécurisé pour y laisser le véhicule. Un très beau point de vue se situe à 2 minutes à pied du logement.

La hospitalidad del anfitrión y la tranquilidad de un apartamento integrado en un viñedo. Equipamiento genial y super recomendable. Repetiríamos sin dudarlo ☺️

Die Ruhe und Sauberkeit der Unterkunft war herausragend, ebenso die Großzügigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit der Gastgeber. Inmitten von Weinreben, Bananenstauden und Schafen konnten wir sehr gut entspannen! Wir fanden den Ort als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Unternehmungen gut.

− Unsere Fewo war eher dunkel mit wenigen kleinen Fenstern, weshalb wir nicht so gerne drinnen saßen - die Terrasse mit Ausblick war dafür umso schöner! Die Luftfeuchtigkeit war, typisch für den Norden Madeiras, sehr hoch, auch in der Fewo.

Authentication Stay on an old Estate

The house is part of a larger etstate where a few other vacation homes exist. There is some farming going on (vineyard) which can cause noise sometimes. The location in Arco de Sao Jorge is generally a very good one if you like a calm and not too touristy place. The motorway ends in this area, few tourists get here, it's mostly locals. The next bigger supermarket is in Santana about 20 minutes by car away. There are some restaurants in the town as well for dinner or drinks. For hiking it is a good location there are muiltiple coastal paths whic are little used by others, but it can be pretty hot there in the summer. Some of the montain hikes are not far away (like the highest peaks reachable from Faial). The other main mountain hikes in the western part of the island are more difficult to reach, because one of the mountain roads is currently closed. The contact to the host(s) was always friendly and helpful. We had a couple of issues in the beginning which have all been solved quickly. This is an old house which has good and bad aspects. It feels very original but lacks some comfort in one spot or another. The bedroom in the lower part of the house is quite dark but also not so hot. There is a mosquito net there on the window which is very helpful. Some mosquitos still manage to sneak in, probably via the bathroom. The kitchen is very spacious but lacks equipment in some spots. There is no bigger frying pan available, for example, and a ktichen strainer is nowhere to be found neither in the house nor in the local stores. Also some more sharp cooking knifes and cutting boards (made of wood!) would be helpful. The upstairs part of the house has a lot of light coming in from multiple windows, which is nice. There are no mosquito nets here, however, which means that you will quickly fall victim to them at night.

− The bathrooms both the lower and upper one are a bit of a weak point of the house. The drain is not working very well and the modern showers without doors or shower curtain easily cause water to spill out, which will not dry by itself given the high air humidity on the island. Since this is very close to nature and the farming land on the estate you will encounter various animals at times. Be prepared for the occasional roach, lizard and similar wildlife to greet you in the kitchen. But there was no infestation of any kind. You should take care of any food left around in the kitchen thought, we had a lizard helping itself to some fruit, for example.
