The rustic look

− The air-conditioning unit was not working, there were termites and the place was not clean. The dining chairs and tables were dusty. We need to clean the utensils and plates. It takes a while before the gates were open everytime.we arrive.

The villa is beautiful, spacious, clean, with well stocked kitchen and bathroom supplies. The staff are friendly and helpful. I love the antique furnitures, the many paintings on every wall, and lush garden.

− The house is far from downtown and conveniences. Most problematic is the water supply. It was not available one afternoon because the motor to filter it was being fixed, and also when 3 of us took showers, the supply became very little until the water tank gets full again.

When we stayed there, it was very peaceful. The ambiance was nice, the house was clean, and the paintings were truly amazing, that’s actually what stood out to us the most. If we go back to Bacolod, I would really prefer to stay there again with my family.

Overall experience: acceptable, but I would not recommend it—especially for guests traveling from abroad.

The onsite staff are genuinely lovely. Special mention to Mr. Dennis, our driver—punctual, knowledgeable, and basically a human GPS. The house itself has charm and character, especially if you appreciate art. Van rental on-site is also very convenient.

− The not-so-good: Several bathrooms need maintenance. Multiple bidets weren’t working properly (at least two were leaking), and there was a persistent smell of humidity and sewage in some toilets, which affected comfort. The disappointing: Customer relations could really be improved. We paid around 40k for six nights plus almost 20k for van services. After that, being asked to pay 800 pesos for one broken glass felt extortionate to its actual value and left a poor impression. It wasn’t about the amount, but about the principle and tone of the request. Communication before arrival also needs attention. Some of my Viber messages were left unanswered, which was stressful since we were traveling internationally without local calling capability. When our flight was delayed and we couldn’t immediately find the driver, clearer communication would have helped a lot. Onsite communication was fine; it was mainly before arrival that was difficult.
