Our group of friends continue to speak fondly of our time at this property, especially because of the hosts Rafaelle and
10.0The property is an old historical villa that has been passed down through the generations to the current owners, who exhibit pride of ownership in the way that they maintain their property. Lots of old world values, with the added benefits of a modern swimming pool, outdoor shower, etc. The property itself, if you allow it to, will absorb you into the world of old Italy, it will slow you down, it will allow you to de-stress, to enjoy its amazing lands with fruit and olive trees, with various flowering plants throughout the vast maintained grounds. The owners themselves Rafaelle and Tina come out to greet you, and to show you around the villa and it’s surrounding property, and in our case, perhaps because we showed so much of an interest, they spent quality time walking us through the entire property with pride to show us the various flora, the olive trees, the history, and obviously the entire inside of the villa. Such warm and kind hosts!
− Not much. There’s always small things that arise, but Rafaelle and Tina were very responsive and accommodative to our small requests. Please note that this property would likely be for those “who wish to get away from it all” since it is somewhat secluded and you need to drive to get into Galatina, and drive even longer to get to the bigger towns nearby (but that’s the appeal of this property as a get-away).
La dolce vita.
10.0The character of the property was just what we were looking for, each room felt authentic and charming. So much room for our group of 7 and the pool within the olive trees provided the most romantic oasis. Raffaele was a great host and provided us with fantastic historic context of the villa. We were lucky enough to be staying during the St. Peter’s festival and had a view from the pool of the fireworks which felt like a private display.
− Come prepared for mozzies, but with a garden this beautiful the bites are a fair trade.
