Spacious apartment in a great location, but lack of water pressure renders it virtually unusable

This apartment is in a great location. That was my primary consideration when booking and I wasn't disappointed. The living room is very nice-looking with vaulted ceilings, and there are three en-suite bedrooms, all of a good size. Note that the two back bedrooms are in a separate building behind the courtyard. To get to them you have to exit the main house from the kitchen and walk across the private courtyard, then into the bottom one or up exterior stairs to the top one. Keep this in mind if travelling with young children. We didn't cook, so I can't comment on how well furnished the kitchen is. I can say that the water pressure is absolutely terrible and would not be sufficient to wash dishes. We couldn't find a working light switch to operate the kitchen lights. Since we weren't cooking, I didn't mention this to the owner until after we left. She told me the light switch is "behind the fridge." So I can't say for sure if the lights in the kitchen worked.

− The water pressure was shockingly bad. I can't emphasize enough just how little water there was. It wasn't sufficient to wash soap from your body in the shower, let alone shampoo. It was no more than a trickle in the kitchen sink. The water heater is very confusing. There's a switch in the living room that you're meant to use to get hot water, and are told not to turn it on for more than 30 minutes. Out of six showers taken by our party across two nights, only one was mildly warm. The rest were a cold trickle. There is a washing machine, but no dryer and one drying rack that might hold three shirts and nothing more. I booked this place with the knowledge that we'd need to do laundry, but was unable to do it because of the lack of drying space. Even if I had tried, the utter lack of water pressure would have made doing laundry impossible. I can't even begin to imagine how long it would take to fill the machine with water, let alone rinse and such. Also, laundry soap wasn't provided. We ended up taking our laundry to a lavanderia three blocks away (there are two options within meters of the intersection of 16 and 57, we used Lavanderia "la tinto" with good results, 40 pesos per kg.) The toilet in the master bedroom leaked clean water from the connection to the spray attachment. We discovered this the first night when the bathroom floor filled with water, making the slippery tiles treacherous to walk on. I informed the owner but all she said was that she'd inform someone else -- no effort was made to resolve the situation. In the meantime we closed the valve to the sprayer, but that cause the cistern not to fill so the toilet couldn't be used. I eventually stuck a bucket under the whole spray attachment and reopened the value, which solved the problem for us.

La ubicación es excelente, a dos calles de la calle 59 y cerca de la muralla. La casa está cómoda, tiene una bonita sala con una pequeña TV, tiene un comedor muy amplio con juegos de mesas y una cocina larga bien equipada. EL cuarto principal se encuentra en el segundo piso de la área principal (Arriba de comedor) y los dos cuartos adicionales están pasando un pequeño patio, que también es agradable.

− El A/C del cuarto principal era un poco ruidoso, y el colchón de la cama king estaba un poco aguado. Poca presión en el lavabo de la cocina. Y se percibía un poco de humedad en los cuartos de atrás. Si eres persona fácil para viajar y que se adapta fácilmente a que no esté perfecto, es una muy buena opción para el precio. Si eres persona que le molestan los detalles, o necesita que todo esté bien para dormir, quizá no es la opción para ti.

La maison est pleine de charme et idéalement située dans le quartier historique. Tout est accessible à pied. Le logement est bien adapté pour des couples ou avec de grands enfants mais comme 2 des chambres sont à l extérieur dans le patio pas avec de jeunes enfants.

− Les installations électriques sont vieillissantes. Un filet d eau dans la cuisine pour la vaisselle

It was near the Main Street

− Everything was extremely dusty, a lite film of crusty dust on everything. The bed sheets smelled like a locker room, like an armpit and foot. Every single fiber of the bed smelled terrible and made it impossible for the bed to be used. Musty awful smell. I woke up covered in bug bites, and the hosts response was “I don’t control the bugs” If you are looking for a place that you just don’t care about sleeping well and don’t mind bugs crawling on you at night and to be very hot, then book this place. The owner will argue everything over and over with you so just leave and get your money back

La ubicación esta excelente... cuando llegamos la atencion fue muy buena. Las camas supercomodas... aire acondicionado en todo el lugar..

− La fachada.. pero una vez entras a la casa eso queda en ultimo plano
