Lovely stay near Asahidake
8.0Mika was a very welcoming host and communicative. Osamu was very kind and gifted us some postcards of his photography at the end of our stay. The house had a helpful binder full of activity and restaurant recommendations. The house is a great location between Higashikawa town and Asahidake. We enjoyed use of the full kitchen. If looking for a meal in town, we recommend Wakkaya bagel for breakfast and KingBear for soup curry!
− The stairs are extremely steep. No bidet in the bathroom and no first aid kit in the home.
Lovely stay in Higashikawa
9.0Mika and Osamu are great hosts and have a lovely place. The house has been lovingly restored, and displays amazing photos of Mt Asahidake by Osamu and lovely baskets weaved by Mika. There's a lovely spot next to the house where you can have an outdoor meal or bbq. It's midway between Higashikawa town and Mt Asahidake, so you'll be able to drive to places easily.
− A car is definitely needed to get to this place. There's a local bus, but it runs infrequently with a limited schedule.
Perfect small house in peacuful location.
9.0Lovely house near the mountains. Very clean and cozy. All equipment you need to make a dinner/breakfast. As it is a gallery, beautiful pictures everywhere. Very easy to keep in touch with the owners, who helped us in all our questions.
− It is a gallery, so keep that in mind. The sofa from upstairs would be nice to have downstairs to hang out after day outside. Pretty dark outside the house, maybe some lights were broke down. Car is a necessary as the village is few kilometers away.
We had a wonderful 2 nights at Gallery Stay and really enjoyed just hanging out in this unusal accomodation. The hosts
10.0Lovely building, and inside you are surrounded by beautiful photographs.
Ontspannen tussen kunst en natuur
10.0Alles! De locatie (zelfs bereikbaar met openbaar vervoer als je moeite wil doen), de natuur rondom, de kunst van Osamu en Mika, de gastvrijheid, de heerlijke bedden,… Heerlijk!
