Beautiful Home, Great Location (beware of steep steps )
8.0The property was beautiful and a great location to Grandfather Mountain etc. It was outfitted with everything imaginable all that we needed was our food and clothes.
− It wasn’t advertised but really wish it had a hot tub. The steps going in and out of the property are steep and the master is on the second floor. I’m Handicapped so this made it hard on me. Also there’s NO yard - it’s way too steep. But the main reason I gave it the score I did was because of the mattresses. Very uncomfortable - all accept the guest room. I had to sleep on the couch and even that was uncomfortable with springs poking into my hip.

Amazing Cabin and Wonderful Hosts
10.0There was a binder that had every question possible answered. The cabin was fully stocked so we were able to settle in nicely. I was grateful for all the communication throughout the whole process.

Beautiful place, well equipped, we'd stay again in a heartbeat
10.0Great cabin and a quiet road with a beautiful view to the east in a lovely neighborhood. The amenities are very well documented (literally two volumes of documentation on just about everything, with great attention to detail and often a cheerful sense of humor). We didn't go downstairs at all except to just see what was there, but it really seemed like the perfect game room. Hot water and water pressure were great. It was about 20 minutes from App State and convenient to a ton of local hikes. The decorations and artwork were really cool. I love all the balcony seating, too. Plenty of parking. Very clean and comfortable. The bear-proofing on the trash can is like a modern art statement piece, but I saw the toothmarks so I know it's for real! The couch was comfy and seating was ample. Best toaster I've ever used. Comfy beds. Highly recommended accommodation -- it's lovely. Just book it.
− No deal-breakers at all. Maybe the kitchen is a bit tight, but it's totally workable and super well-equipped. I think it would feel a bit homier if it weren't so prodigiously labelled, but I guess that's a double-edged sword because it's also good to know what everything is for -- sometimes it seemed overdone just for fun (e.g. a remote labelled "remote"). That said, it's probably the most well-documented place I've ever stayed. A couple of things were missing or out of order (e.g. fireplace remote, nespresso machine), but those things didn't impact our short stay, and we probably could have just called about them if we really wanted those things. Voices from one of the lower bedrooms carry very clearly into the upper, but I'm not sure much could be done about that, either -- probably just good to know about. The only real disappointment was that I never spotted a sasquatch while I was there ;) Also heed their warnings about having appropriate transportation -- I would not have wanted to experience those switchbacks on ice without a properly equipped car!
The views were lovely!
