The booking agents are friendly.

− Unfortunately, the property did not meet expectations. The front gate key did not work, which was very frustrating. We had to get a service key from the booking agent the next day - so it’s unclear why a proper working key wasn’t provided to guests from the start. Upon entering, the house had a strong indoor braai smell, which was quite unpleasant and took time to clear. Old diffusers were left on top of the kitchen cupboards, likely to mask odours. Ventilation is limited. The downstairs layout is not very functional. Just a main kitchen area with a TV + bulky table, with an additional smaller table placed underneath for some reason as there is nowhere to move it to, making the space feel cramped and uncomfortable. The property feels dated, with little evidence of recent upkeep. The dishwasher is old, old mop and broom left out, the cutlery and crockery appear worn – more like the owners’ second-hand equipment. The main bedroom was the most comfortable, but other rooms had issues: • One downstairs bedroom has no windows, relying only on a door for ventilation. • The upstairs bedroom had a visible hole in the cupboard exposing part of the structure. • The upstairs shower was blocked and did not drain properly. • Blankets and pillows in cupboards did not look fresh, and there were miscellaneous old items stored in some spaces. • Linen on the beds was ok. But pillows worn. Additionally, the hairdryer could not be used as there was no suitable adaptor available. The property lacks a proper lounge or comfortable relaxation area. The upstairs braai space feels more like a bar or entertainment area rather than a place to unwind, which may suit some guests but was not ideal for us. Prior to arrival, concerns were raised based on previous reviews, and we were assured these had been addressed. Unfortunately, this did not seem to be the case. While the braai areas are adequate, overall the property felt outdated and not particularly comfortable for a stay.

We'll be back again some day but hope that the various appliances and utensils are refreshed/renewed

Great location, the different braai options were convenient, short walk to the beach, lovely birdlife.

− attention-to-detail cleaning is necessary, appliances such as the kettle, toaster should be updated, mould in the ice machine, noisy ceiling fans depending on the speed selected

They property was very close to the beach and the house was well equipped.

− The showers were a bit of a problem when more than one person showered.

The house was big and comfortable

− Our tiolets would not flush from the day we arrived was reported on the Saturday but I had to call again Sunday for the plumber to be sent as the toilet almost overflowed with excrement which was bubbling up to our toilet. It was disgusting. It was fixed but it put a damper on our weekend.
