A very pleasant long weekend in Northumberland

This was my second visit and everything was excellent again. It's a very comfortable and well cared for property in a great location for all Northumberland's many wonderful attractions. Super quiet - it's remote but Corbridge and the A69 are only a few minutes' drive away. A welcome pack containing ground coffee and biscuits is a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend staying here.

− Very minor quibbles but the fridge is a bit noisy with a constant buzz so I would recommend earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The bathroom basin is a little impractical, and it might be a thought for the owners to provide a non-slip mat for the bath which is quite slippery especially if you're taking a shower.

Beautiful property and settings but be aware there is no shower gel or sugar there.

Lovely very quiet remote location, far away from anyone. No neighbours, no village, no nothing. Lovely setting, surrounding fields and sheep. Relaxing place.

− What is missed it is hospitality. We received 2 sugar sachets for both of us for the weekend !!! Also absolutely no shower gel of any kind. It is first time I stayed anywhere with no meanings of taking bath or shower. We were going to the wedding and definitely didn't expect that shower will be an issue. I will add £300 per weekend and they couldn't provide the simplest shower gel.

Great place for a Northumberland break

We really enjoyed our 4-night stay at Shellbraes Studio. It's in a great location easy to find just off the A68 near Corbridge - very handy for Hadrian's Wall, Hexham and attractions further afield in Tyneside and Northumberland. It was very clean and comfortable with everything you need if you want to self cater, or there's a good choice of places to eat out nearby if you prefer. The owners send you lots of info in advance which was very helpful. The wood burner kept us very cosy - a plentiful supply of fuel was provided which was much appreciated. I definitely recommend.

− No criticisms - we are already booked to return later this year.

Lovely, comfortable, and well-equipped studio/cottage located in beautiful Northumberland countryside. Very kind of hosts to provide plenty of firewood along with coffee, tea, milk and biscuits.

Super clean, cosy, warm. Great bed and bedding. Beautiful location - quite remote. Nice welcome pack inc milk in the (small) fridge. Great value. The

− Bathroom is decent size but didn’t like small cloakroom basin. Also limited ability to spread out wet towels. We don’t usually stay in studios so was a bit alarmed that fridge noise would keep us awake but it was fine.
