Amazing location, just what we were looking for

9.0

Amazing location, clean, has everything you need.

Tiny things maybe: more dish towels and cups, especially larger ones. Maybe a coffee machine, but now I’m just not picking. It’s a lovely cottage

Mixed feelings. Given a little more care, Conwy View Cottage could be a decent accommodation.

6.0

The location of the cottage was good in that there was a car-park just around the corner where we could leave our car overnight. (For a fee.) It was inside the medieval city walls, so getting to the Castle, restaurants, and the shops, etc. was famously easy. The cottage had plenty of room on the ground floor and a really nice kitchen. The bathroom was very nice with a good, modern, roomy shower.

There were no items in the kitchen what-so-ever in the way of welcoming travelers. Not even instant coffee, tea, salt, pepper, sugar, spices, oil, etc. No aluminum foil, a small amount of plastic wrap - probably left by a former renter. A service of cutlery, cups, plates and glasses for four, although some very nice pots and pans were available. Because of this, we weren't able to do any real cooking - taking the time to find a comprehensive grocery store to outfit the kitchen wasn't in our schedule. Having traveled pretty extensively in the UK and Europe, I was expecting a bit more in the way of basic essentials. The cottage as a whole wasn't exactly spotlessly clean and the furniture is starting to show wear. The smaller bedroom upstairs is really only suitable for small children since it is only as long as the bunk beds and barely two feet wider. The balcony had to be accessed through this bedroom. We had the dickens of a time with the front door lock.

A Room and a view!

The balcony with the view of the castle is what makes this property so special! Into is a short walk to charming downtown Conwy.

Not a dislike- but note that the bedrooms and bath are quite small.

A good cottage in a very good location

8.0

The house is very well located, only 5 mins walk to the shops, the pubs and the castle. It is well equipped, especially in the kitchen. It has a smart tv. The main bed was on the soft side. The owner was ever so quick at responding to queries and was very proactive when needed to sort something out. There is so much to do in Conwy and in the area. This makes it a great base. We could have parked outside the cottage but it was a bit tight so we found an area just outside the town wall where there were no parking restrictions

A couple of details: the frying pan was quite small to prepare family dinners. The settee is also a bit soft. Otherwise all good.

The perfect place to stay in Conwy

10.0

We absolutely loved our stay as this is one of those wonderful places that begins to feel like home. Colin and Monica have thoughtfully renovated the cottage so that it is attractive and comfortable. The roof terrace with its view of the castle was great for a drink in cooler weather (with coats) and I can only imagine how wonderful this would be in the summer. We found the cottage very cosy in autumn but I can imagine it would be comfortable in any kind of weather. It’s location within the walls of Conwy makes the location both convenient and special. Highly recommended.

This is not something we didn’t like but a bit of advice. There is free parking available and the ‘hidden’ parking bay Colin recommends always had places; however, parking in the street would not be something we would recommend. We chose to pay the £8.50 per day at Mt Pleasant which is cheap in comparison to Sydney prices and a short walk to the cottage.
