Beautiful rural experience

9.0

It is therefore a very nice experience to stay in a traditional semi-buried rural house, with walls made of thick stone blocks, small windows, and traditional wooden roof. The bed was comfortable, and two portable heaters were sufficient to heat up any room even on cold rainy days. The location is wonderful, in the middle of a small mountain village, just between the church and the Espigueiros. Two bakeries and a mini-market are within the walking distance. You may meet local Garrano horses grazing around the nearby park and the Cachena cows on the surrounding slopes. It is a good place for hikes into the park, or to barrage and nearby Lindoso. The place is served by sporadic public busses from Arcos de Valdevez central bus station (https://www.avic.pt/home).

Only cold tap in bathroom sink. The equipment is a bit beaten and the fridge's thermostat is probably broken—the food gets frozen. I was often woken up at night by neighbours returning home after midnight (but I am very sensitive to noise).
