Perfect home away from home for a big family holiday
10.0This was one of the few houses in Albany we could book to accommodate three couples plus all of our kids, and we couldn't have hoped for a better spot. The house is beautiful and homely, with a variety of large bedrooms, a communal living area, an upstairs ensuite, plus an extra toilet downstairs. The kitchen is sizeable and well-stocked so you can easily do your own cooking, the laundry has a washer and dryer, and there's plenty of parking on the empty lot next to the chook pen and veggie garden - which were a hit with the kids! The main street of Albany and the waterfront are just a few minutes' walk away - and there's a large grassed park and small playground on the next street over. In short - it has everything you need to create a temporary home away from home while you enjoy everything Albany has to offer. The hosts were friendly and unobtrusive - quick to respond when we needed something, but otherwise left us to our own devices.
− The only snag with such a large, popular house is that the recycling bins can fill up quickly! We also ran out of pegs when hanging up clothes, but it's possible there were more stored somewhere - we forgot to ask during our stay.
Great character charm accommodation with plenty of space in the centre of Albany.
9.0The house was full of character charm with modern amenities and a stunning garden. The location central to downtown Albany was perfect for strolls to the shops and harbour area. The children in our group particularly enjoyed visiting the chickens each day. The hosts were friendly and contacted us before the stay to ensure we had all the information we needed for a seamless check in.
Gorgeous home, fantastic hosts!
10.0House was roomy and beautifully decorated. The complimentary local bread, muesli, cheese, butter, milk and fresh eggs were so thoughtful! Lou and James were friendly and very quick to respond to queries.
− Maybe a few more small cereal/dessert bowls would be useful - but this is hardly an issue.
