Comfy Cabin in beautiful location
9.0Beautiful location. The cabin was situated away from the main house overlooking the lake, and it felt like you had the place to yourself. Very doggy friendly with enclosed garden as well as grounds to walk around. Cabin was well fitted out with everything to hand, bed comfortable and a decent shower. Our host Vanda had provided a cream tea on arrival, and checked that we had everything we needed even providing a colander when I couldn't find one in the cabin. You can hear the trains nearby, but they don't seem to run at night and they didn't provide a distraction from what is essentially a very peaceful location. It is very close to Truro with plenty of supermarkets and amenities close by. It is also well situated to visit both north and south coasts of Cornwall.
− The road to the accommodation is very narrow with overhanging vegetation. We were staying during a heatwave and as the cabin is wooden it did get very hot inside.

7.0Outstanding setting and location. Very peaceful and quiet. Great to watch the wildlife. Very convenient for getting to Truro and onto public transport. Handy for local pubs to eat out and shops.
− We previously stayed in 2021 and found that this time, 2026, there was the same settee, chair, soft furnishings and duvet cover. All these would benefit from renewing as these were a bit worn and worse for wear. We both suffer from asthma and the fact that dogs have stayed in the cabin is Very apparent, particularly in the bedroom. On our stay there was quite a bit of dust in the corners and we had to vac around the dressing table plugs. For longer stays it would be nice to have more than one set of towels available.

9.0Lovely hosts and an unexpected cream tea on arrival. Lovely private setting. Everything you need in a self catering accomodation. Beautiful grounds and so quiet too.
