Beautiful cottage and surroundings. Well equipped. Heating was great thankfully, as we were unable to use the log burner

− Beautiful property, fantastic surroundings. Few issues though. The log burner was unfortunately not in working condition, the inside was completely bare, no grill , just filled with ash on the floor of the burner. Also no tools to clean the ash out. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector weren’t working! The stairs were deadly! Our dogs couldn’t get upstairs, and cried all night , so my partner had to purchase an air bed from Amazon, costing £50. So that we could all sleep downstairs together. David was a good host but on the last day when informed about the log burner, he stated that it was safe to use. Such a shame because it’s a beautiful place. It ticked many boxes for us, but if we had known about the log burner/ detectors/ stairs, we would definitely have booked somewhere else.

Perfect location with parking. Ideal and secure for the dogs. David was very nice and came to say goodbye to us. Lovely orchard behind the property so tranquil stunning views of Porlock Marsh. We didnt wamt to come back home.

Es ist ein wunderschönes Cottage, sehr liebevoll eingerichtet mit stilvollen Möbeln, die wunderbar den Charme des Hauses zur Geltung bringen. Alles ist herrlich gemütlich - sowohl im Inneren als auch im Außenbereich (Innenhof und Obstgarten). Im Haus ist alles vorhanden, was man benötigt - bestens ausgerüstete Küche sowie vielfältige Lektüre, Puzzle und Spiele im Wohnzimmer. Besonders schön ist es, dass vielfältige Wanderwege direkt vom Haus aus starten, sodass man das Auto stehen lassen und einfach entspannt losgehen kann. Das Cottage liegt wenige Gehminuten vom sehr malerischen Ort Porlock entfernt, der beste Infrastruktur hat - kleiner Supermarkt, hübscher Tearoom, gut bestückter Haushaltswarenladen, Käsegeschäft, Fleischer etc. David ist ein sehr freundlicher Gastgeber - vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

We were very happy nestling below ancient woodland whilst overlooking the sea. The cottage felt homely with nothing generically B & B. There were some lovely touches like the brackets for wet coats in the hall. I wish we had had more time there to explore the scenery further and spend more time indoors digesting the literature. David was a welcoming and engaging, yet unobtrusive, host. And the honey from his bees was delicious.

Great hosts very helpful,and a beautiful setting will be returning very soon.
