Beautiful traditional style house in the mountain villiage
9.0This house is beautiful. Old and full of charm. It's out of the way (you'll need a car to get to it) but that's part of its appeal. The staff were friendly (they cook/prepare the dinner if you opted for it) but didn't overstay their welcome. The area around the house is wonderful from someone used to cities in Japan more than anything else.
− Honestly the only thing I didn't like was that there were only 2 chairs for relaxing. There was a dining area but its not entirely suitable for relaxation. The beds were futons (but thick cushy ones) so also not appropriate for relaxing (upright). The street to get to it is also quite skinny (larger car will have trouble) but thats not something they can control (just a warning)

Our stay in Japan
10.0It was our first time travelling to Japan from London and we wanted to experience the more cultural side to Japan after visiting Tokyo. We came across this place and it was beyond our expectations, the house is beautiful and cozy and comfortable with all the amenities you require, however what made it the best experience for us was the staff. Ian was beyond amazing, he was helpful and after talking to him he mentioned how he learnt as much english as he could to talk to us and help us communicate, once we arrived we went through everything clearly and it was such a heartwarming experience, this alone made it the best stay we could have ever imagined. He then helped us the following days get groceries, drove us to 7-11 at 2am when we checked in just to get some snacks which was just beyond what we would have thought and expected from anyone. The days after he helped us cook meals, and honestly was just so friendly we had a wonderful time. This place was perfect for anyone to stay! Could not recommend enough. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
