Very disappointed

Location

Very disappointing stay. Sofa very uncomfortable despite guests stating so since 2022 in visitors book. Controls on oven broken. Many stains on duvet, only seen when we stripped bed on leaving. Lovely little flat in great location but needs a lot of tlc

Lovely traditional workers house, tastefully refurbished.

9.0

Lovely location. Close to the centre of Haworth and also good restaurants close by. Very near to the steam railway too. It’s a proper terraced house, which has been carefully refurbished for travellers. I don’t know what it would be like in the winter, but for the summer, it is a great place- warm and with everything you need.

There’s only one bathroom.

Very brief stay (1 night) but interesting

7.0

It’s in a convenient central location. Interesting historic building (year?). Comfortable seating in the living room.

The lay out includes three very steep flights of stairs without child/pet gates. Which makes it unsuitable for those with mobility issues or families with very small children. Situated on a very steep hill - we are used to that but would be a problem for disabled.

Not relaxing due to over excessive communication, bad smell and not feeling comfortable abiut using the kitchen and bath

4.0

It was not too far from the Brontë parsonage.

We were disappointed with the smell of damp in the downstairs kitchen, which meant we could not use the kitchen. There were notices saying it was due to coal having been stored under the stairs and kitchen in the past, but we know the smell of damp. Unfortunately it also smelt of what seemed like urine and it appears lots of dog owners stay at the house so we wonder if there has been an accident/s in the kitchen area too. This should have been picked up by the landlord/ cleaner if it was. Feeling disappointed, we looked at some of the previous feedback on Airbnb and found we were in exact agreement with 2 previous reviews that mentioned the smell of damp ( not urine) …..quite a few years ago. So unfortunately it appears the landlord has done nothing to rectify the damp issue. The parking was not good, and you needed to walk quite a way up hill to get to the property from the nearest flattish road. This road was also full of vehicles, so it was hard to get a spot. The decor was tired and the carpet in the kitchen needed a thorough clean….see attached photo. We received over excessive communication from the landlord about how to treat the property, with reminders of how we would need to pay for any damage. For example….we were told any damage to the bathroom floor would be charged etc. In normal circumstances we would understand but the bathroom floor was bare wood with no Lino or sealant between the wood. We were so concerned about how easy it would be to cause damage that we didn’t use the shower. See attached pictures of the floor next to the bath/shower Unfortunately we didn’t feel we could relax in the house because we didn’t want to use the kitchen or bathroom for reasons given above.
