1.0Location.
− Stayed July 2026. Ground floor was very dirty with an overpowering smell of mould. The floor and skirting are covered in grime as are the window sills and the stairs. There was dog food left on the floor in the kitchen and dog hair under and on the sofas. We cleaned the sofas and then covered them with throws from the bedroom, but still chose to sit on the pavement outside due to the smell. We didn’t even unpack our provisions as decided there was no way we could use the kitchen. We also couldn’t use the terrace due to overgrown bushes and dirty table and chairs. The back door and steps leading to the terrace are a health hazard of accumulated bird poo. The bedrooms are well kept but the bathroom needs a proper clean and some mould and mildew remover applied to the shower. Hair and grime behind the toilet. This cottage needs some serious TLC and a deep clean and damp eradication. Luckily we had only booked 2 nights as otherwise we would have checked out and gone elsewhere.

10.0Everything.. the cottage was very clean, beds comfortable 😌 great location. Steps up to outdoor seating where steep. Garden area coukd be improved, was ok but some nice pots out there would be nice with colour, And better seating. All in all I would say great place to stay.
− Garden area could be improved and tidied up cottage perfect inside. A welcome pack of tea coffee and sugar would of been nice.

− Cold, very cold.

5.0The cottage was ideally situated in the middle of staithes so this was a bonus. The outside space was a bonus and in summer would be good to sit out in.
− The floors in the room had not been mopped in a long time. The kitchen was in need of attention as the fridge and cooker were dirty when we arrived.
