Gorgeous location & views. Nice back garden

Cottage damp & smelled musty. When we arrived some areas not been hoovered & dusty. Apparently owners have new caretakers & wished to know how things were. We didn't want to be rude but mentioned the damp & there was dog hairs, crumbs dust and a lighter under cushions of sofa. We didn't really get anywhere except for them saying the damp, mould etc. was due to the cottage position on a hillside. We also said there was an ill fitting bathroom window & door of conservatory where midges were getting in & there was a deep layer of them in the bath, toilet, windowsills. We expected them outside but not in, all of us had a lot of bites. It was definitely not worth the money , if they want to charge high prices then we would have expected better. Also we have been back over 2 weeks & no sign of damage deposit which is usually 7 days on return home. I've been on to booking.com who said they have contacted the owners but still nothing back, which is just wrong especially when you save up to take your family on holiday & pay quite a high price it was really disappointing all round.

The surroundings of the cottage are very beautiful. Big garden, comfortable house, well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms , dining room with a fireplace that is lovely. Specious bedrooms on the upper floor are also bathroom. Quite a countryside cottage close by to visit stunning Puck's Glen to must see.
