Perfect for a short break

The swimming pool was lovely especially given the hot weather. The barn was perfect for us and the owner was very helpful. Lovely views at sunset from the field

We had the loveliest three nights at this little barn, and honestly we didn't want to leave. The setting is so quiet and peaceful - exactly the kind of stillness that's hard to come by these days. The barn is gorgeous, full of character, and sits so naturally in its surroundings. There's just so much to appreciate in every corner! We loved the semi-wild garden on the hillside, with its fruit trees, flowers everywhere, and all the little decorations we kept spotting along the way. We hadn't been looking for a swimming pool, but it turned out to be a perfect place to spend a hot summer afternoon. John was a wonderful host too - friendly, welcoming, and full of great stories about the area and its history. It really added something special to the trip. Such a relaxing little getaway. Thanks, John - we'll definitely be back!

The Barn was charming and full of old Welsh/English character. It was set amongst beautiful countryside and had amazing views, with a lovely, private balcony to sit out on to enjoy an evening drink, or breakfast. It was very spacious with a big dining table and large sofa. The pool was great, a welcome relief in the hot weather. The host was very friendly and helpful and communicated very well. I loved his collection of dragons dotted around too! It was just a beautiful place to stay and would definitely love to stay there again.

− There really wasn't a lot not to like apart from the nearby roads. They were slightly rough, single track country roads, so care needed driving, but the destination was absolutely worth it. If you are expecting, modern, hi-tech facilities you might be disappointed, but the shower and bathroom facilities were absolutely fine. The electric was on a coin meter, but was easy and cheap (£1 a day). The stairs to the mezzanine twin bedroom were very steep but I'd have loved it as a child up there. If I was being really picky, there wasnt a lot of clothes hanging space and the mattress on the double bed was a little uncomfortable for me, but I am fussy and I still slept ok. My partner had no issues.
