Transitional, unique and beautiful and relaxing
10.0It was authentic and traditional. The hosts, spent a lot of time with us, explaining best places to explore not just in Takayama but also on the rest of our travels in Japan. They also provided us with an amazing Wagu hot pot dinner which was so lovely.

A unique expérience
10.0Perfect stay in Takayama., within the old town! The café is so nice and you get a really good expérience when staying at night. Futon were confortable and the bathroom very modern and clean. Hannah was very gentle, and organised such a good meal ( shabu shabu) . She speaks english very well, ,so you do not miss any important information. Thank you!
− The steep staircase could be difficult depending on your conditions. It was really ok for us

− Nous partageons l endroit avec un café ouvert le jour donc pas accessible le jour notre entrée était une échelle escalier pour monter au grenier qui était notre chambre les lumières et le plafond très bas La douche étais dans le café donc pas accessible dans le jour et nous entendons les clients et les repas en bas À notre arrivée nous étions en retard sur le trajet donc arrivée 7 pm et la dame était pas vraiment contente pas un sourire pas un mots une chance que son mari était là et gentil lui Jamais en 3 jours il on vidé les poubelles et changé les serviettes

7.0Good location, lovely place. When the coffee shop was closed able to use cooking facilities etc.
− There was no indication from the description that the communal spaces are actually part of a coffee shop with opening times overlapping with check-in, meaning the downstairs area cannot be used and has customers. This was fine; it should just be clear before booking.

10.0We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to stay at Tabino Shiori. While the building and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful, what made our stay so special were the hosts. Euc, Shiori and Hana were delightful and it’s a shame that we didn’t have more time to enjoy a coffee at their cafe. The shabu shabu dinner was delicious and it was great to enjoy a quiet dinner at home after a day of travelling. Thank you again for your hospitality and we can’t wait to return in the future ☺️
