Fabulous cottage in a peaceful setting
10.0We booked in December for the canal festival weekend in June, as my family had previously lived in Braunston around 1800s - 1870s, and worked the canals. They were married and had six or seven of their children christened in the church, which is known as The Cathedral of the Canals. Two canals cross over in Braunston, so it became the gathering place for boat people for their weddings, christenings and funerals en route, up and down the country. The property that we stayed at, had views of the canal and the church and was really quiet and peaceful. We also appreciated the welcome pack of tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, milk, biscuits, scones and jam.
