Host let a squatter stay instead of us

− We showed up at 3pm on the day of our booking despite not having been given details on how to check in yet. I tried to contact the host beforehand but didn’t hear back until after 3pm, only to be told there was someone else staying there who they had let in the day before, who didn’t actually have a booking until over a week later. We had afternoon plans and had to figure out somewhere else to stay with very little time, and at a substantial cost due to how last minute it was. We didn’t go inside the house but we did see the front yard and it was very unkempt. The area was also not very pleasant.

Spacious and clean

− Could do with more seating in lounge area, only a 3 seat sofa. Front garden could do with a tidy. Back garden could do with sorting out, long grass and weeds.

I would definitely stay there again ax the just was very helpfull when we were struggling to get into property as I did

The side was very clean, basic kitchen , beds were relatively comfortable and all linen wax spotless and smelt very clean.

− The exterior did not match the pictures at all. The Front garden requires a lot of work, very untidy, wheelie bin outside was packed with rubbish and we had to leave our black bag inside. The front and back could do with a good paint. The back garden is very overgrown and there is no where to sit and enjoy the sunshine, the garden furniture requires replacing. We were looking forward to sitting out with a coffee in the morning but not able to do this. The tv did not have any recognisable channels as we were looking forward to coming back at the end of the day and watching some of the World Cup football but we were not able to do this.

The house was ok, but not luxury as advertised.

− The front garden to the property was in a terrible state, especially as it's described as a luxury home. Nothing like the photos. The front door to the property, was out of line somehow and was difficult to close, this is obviously not recently happened. There were no tea bags. There was some coffee and sugar, also milk sachets in the fridge, which were 2 YEARS out of date. There was a small 3 seater settee, which was uncomfortable and barely sat 2 people, baring in mind property is advertised to sleep up to 8. Dining table had only 3 chairs. There is only 1 tv in the house. None in any of the bedrooms. They had a nice sized garden, which was unusable as it was overgrown and had no suitable outside seating. Expected something for a luxury house. The mattress in the back bedroom was very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs. I hardly slept because of it. There were only hanging rails in the bedrooms, no drawers what so ever. The carpet on the top rung was badly frayed. If the house wasn't listed as being luxury, I would have probably given a higher score. This is a true representation of this property.

Great location, very clean and comfortable. It was our second stay here.

− There's no welcome pack. Tea and coffee are provided but it would be great if they could leave a pint of milk in the fridge.
