Dry, warm but very embarrassed hosting 2 grandmothers in poor quality accommodation
4.0Location excellent with train station and local shop options. Four good sized bedrooms. Good sized Kitchen, dining and lounge. Dry and warm living areas with gas fire and heat pump but bedrooms cold. Dishwasher good. New laundry. Good range of kitchen utensils. Owner did respond to email via Booking.com
− Exterior appearance of house similar to old student flat and first impression was we had wrong address. Discovered an elderly man living on property, in extension of house. Stangers washing on clothes lines most days. Strange car on side of driveway looked abandoned. Found medication pills in kitchen and odd/opened food in pantry. Filthy on top of exposed fridge. Burnt/damaged stove top controls. Kettle broken switch. Used bath towel hanging on master bedroom door knob. Broken electrical fittings in lounge plus torn and peeling wallpaper with attempt to hide behind cushions placed on window seat. Mould in ceiling around bathroom skylight. Bathroom extractor filthy and noisy (not maintained?). Provided four sets of towels for five guests. Original ceiling noticeably sagging down in dining/lounge (about to collapse?). Bedroom Curtains falling apart and not blocking street lights in front room. Kitchen blinds damaged and worn. Hadn't realised road was so busy late at night/early morning with no soundproofing so heard every car. Used Mobile phone number left by Owner in kitchen, left message but no reply.

7.0Lovely place to stay. The hosts were super accommodating. The biggest issue was the shower/bath towels provided.... they could be likened to "wettex dish type cloths". Definitely NOT suitable for an establishment of this kind.
