9.0Very friendly locals and well stocked shop. Good transport links via bus to Kelso. Plenty of places of interest to explore in the area, pleasant roads to travel and lots of wildlife to watch.
− The decor in the cottage is a bit dated. Unfortunately the pub is closed at present but that just helps the community shop sell more alcohol.
2nd visit here, and certain we will be back...!!
10.0We liked everything in The Nook. Morebattle is a charming peaceful idyllic location to unwind and just relax. Stayed here over Easter 2023, for 9 days, and every word of the review we posted for that visit still stands.. Stayed a little longer this Easter, and could quite happily have stayed even longer... A real home from home, with lots of space throughout the cottage, and whilst there were only 2 of us, The Nook could quite easily sleep 4 people. Superb traditional and modern touches throughout.. Welcome bottle of wine upon arrival, as well as milk in the fridge for a nice cup of tea, and heating switched on in advance (by the wonderful Cath)... The Sun was way past 'the yardarm' when we arrived, so naturally, we opted for the wine.. 😊 As usual, host Lawrence is always available to answer any queries which may crop up, and responds very promptly.. So.., overall, our 2nd stay here was every bit as enjoyable as our 1st.. Without doubt...., there will be a 3rd...!!
