Fantastic comfortable stay.Loved it!
10.0Loved everything So comfortable Loved decor and location Very relaxed stay in Whitianga
− Nothing WiFi was super slow which wouldn’t normally be issue but needed to check flight schedules …
Whitianga is a nice little tourist oriented beach town, and the cottage is conveniently located.
8.0The cottage is spacious. The bed was comfortable. The art and antiques were very interesting and enjoyable. The location was great, except that the hotel across the street had an outdoor band playing rock and roll music very loudly until after 11:00 p.m. on our arrival night. The host was kind enough to leave some beer, wine, cheese and crackers for us. The scale, which measured weight in stones, was really interesting and quite accurate.
− The most glaring issue was the bathroom sink. It is apparently an antique, but it is very difficult to use in that the spigots were so close to the porcelain as to make them useless. The shower was so open that the water splashed copiously on the floor. There were no closets, shelves, or luggage racks in either bedroom. The host did not provide Kleenex, a pet peeve of mine. Finally, the bathroom window, although stained glass and a bit opaque, did not have a blind for added privacy.
Highly recommend this stay and would definitely be back.
10.0We loved the location and the charm of the cottage. The courtyard was lovely to sit in and have dinner on such a warm summers evening.

Historic renovated cottage in the heart of toen
10.0Gorgeous cottage in the middle of town, right near the restaurants and bars. Bob and Anne were very welcoming and responsive hosts, and helped us unconditionally when we needed some assistance.
− If you want total tranquillity you might not like the town buzz nearby, but we loved it.
Birthday treat turned sour by nearby renovations
4.0Cottage was nice and very handy to shops and restaurants.Appreciated the treats left for us to enjoy n lots of clean towels. Good heating on cold nights..very comfortable.
− The noise from several ongoing renovations…one right beside the cottage and across the road. Arrived with a fanfare of skill saws, nail guns etc from all sides…woken at 7am next day by builders! We contemplated calling it quits next day but saved by the holiday on Friday n no builders!Drunks loitering in front of cottage at midnight for 1hr from nearby pub didn’t help. Owners should let prospective renters know of renovation works in area n should be reflected in price, especially as it was high end and off season. For the price we expected a bit of luxury, peace and quiet…sorry to say it didn’t meet expectations.
