Great place

Pretty gardens and beautiful view of Kalymnos. Location is great. Didn’t get to see the owners, used a lockbox but they left wine in the fridge for us.

− It was LOUD. If you like sitting in the garden, trying to relax, listening to coaches, lorries etc thunder past you’ll love it. We love to cook outside so when I saw the bbq I thought ‘great’, unfortunately we weren’t allowed to use it. Even the grill had been removed to ensure we couldn’t! We had to cook indoors instead on the cooker which looked as if it had been there way too long and was very rusty inside and out. A marker was on the fridge to show what temperature to use, unfortunately the chicken we bought was rancid when we went to use it two days later. Even the butter was still soft 5 hours later. Pictures don’t show the disgusting state of the bathroom sink nor the shower curtains which were filthy. Decoration was typically Greek, every single surface was covered with ‘charming’ ornaments. Especially weird was a dead starfish encased in sand, covered in glass being used as a side table (!!) No sunbeds provided which I would have expected. WiFi was also very poor. We appreciate it is a typical old Greek house and yes, I did look at the pictures, but actually after staying there, it is evident it is very tired.

Highly recommend, we´ll definitely come back!

Traditional House Marivilla is the most beautiful place we stayed at in Kos island and we highly recommend it! Lovely, quiet, with a big garden, three terraces, clean, sunny and airy, nicely furnished, you´ll find everything you need for a great holiday. Very comfortable mattresses in both bedrooms, spacious open plan living room, a lot of storage places. It is maybe 15 min walking distance from Mastichari with restaurants, shops and a ferry to Kalymnos island, a big supermarket is only 10 min away. We´ll definitely come back!

We spent 10 great days in the house. It is well equipped and good for 4 people.. Mastichari is just 10 min walk but I'm recommending to rent a car. The location was finally very convenient, since within 20 minutes it was possible to reach Kos and the best beach (between Kardamena and Kefalos) I have seen in Kos. The owner of the house, Nikos, was waiting for us and explained everything concerning the house and so.

We liked it very much - a great holiday! Beautiful house, beautiful island, very kind greek people!

The trip from the airport was quick and uncomplicated. Very warm and friendly welcome by the host. Everything you need for your holiday is available in the house. Beautiful garden with many terraces and seating areas. All terraces are equipped with sun protection. We mostly sat on the terrace from where you can see the sea and the neighbouring island of Kalymnos. The nearest shopping facilities are in Mastichari, about 1 kilometre away. Countless restaurants offer a wide selection. The property borders directly on the road leading from Antimachia to Mastchari. So you have to accept a certain amount of traffic noise - it didn't bother us. A huge oleander hedge bloomed towards the neighbour. The two rose bushes at the entrance to the house are also beautiful. Very good - and also important: all windows and doors have insect screens. No mosquitoes, no spiders in the house - very good. What you should really look out for: There are many ants on Kos. Also around the house. If you don't want to have a caravansary in the kitchen, you should regularly dispose of the rubbish - there is a container directly opposite on the other side of the street. We also swept the terrace after breakfast.
