− Could maybe increase the water pressure, especially for shorter showers.
Great time and house lovely and warm with the fireplace and braai area. Entertainment area awesome.

Bark bark, bark bark, bark.
7.0− Dogs next door barked relentlessly, sometimes for an hour continuously, throughout the day. Multiple neighbours dogs barked simultaneously. Sometimes they howled. They barked in the night. It was loud and distressing. Really kills the quiet town vibe when there is not a moment's peace.
Good location and spacious, but a standard stay
8.0We chose Jack of the Karoo for its location in Sutherland so we could visit the Southern African Large Telescope. It is a solid, medium-priced option if you are looking for the basics. The Pros: -Convenience: The property was very easy to get to, and the check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. -Space & Amenities: The house is very spacious and features a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. -Blankets: We visited in the winter, and while the house gets quite cold, they provided plenty of warm blankets to make up for it. The Verdict: While there was nothing outstanding or uniquely special about the property, it was fully functional and met all our needs. If you are looking for a straightforward, spacious, and reasonably priced base to explore Sutherland and the observatory, this does the job just fine.

Fantastic place to stay at. Will recommend to anybody visiting Sutherland.
9.0Beautiful old style Karoo house which has been refreshed. Neat and tidy inside an out.
− Would prefer a tiled shower. Toilet spray was missing.
