Lovely mountain cottage

Lovely country cottage with log fire and included self-cook breakfast. Ideally located close to vineyards and restaurants/shops of Cessnock. Great hosts who went out of their way to arrange a wine tasting for us. Cabin was clean and had all that we needed for our two-night stay in the Hunter.

A misleading listing with no mobile phone or internet coverage.

There are lots to like here but unfortunately, the negatives I have listed spoiled our visit to this property. It is neat clean and tidy with a decent breakfast included.

− While there is much to like about this property, there are a few things that anyone considering renting it should be aware. Despite the fact that the listing on Booking.com states that this property has free wifi, it has NO WIFI, No landline and no mobile phone reception. This proved problematic for us as we were attending a family wedding 15 mins away but were unable to communicate. Unfortunately, we also experienced an extreme weather event with heavy rains and flooding that could have resulted in total isolation with no means of communication. Another disappointing aspect of the property was its pillows. The pillows (just one per person) were not of commercial standard. One pillow was stuffed with so much content it was twice as high as a normal pillow and unusable making using no pillow the only option. The coupon for a "free wine tasting" that was advertised in the listing had expired in 2023. One should also be aware that if you are a couple paying $600 for two nights, the second bedroom will be locked, as the owners demand an additional $150 to unlock it.

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

The property was beautiful, lovely land and sweet cottage. The property was well maintained and easy to locate off the main road. The cottage was large enough with good ammenities included.

− Some aspects of the property needed updating, e.g., games were moldy, wine voucher expired in 2023.
